* I couldn't find a good information page like I normally do on Wiki so I'll do a quick run down myself.
Its on PC only from what I know and it can be bought off Steam for around $17 (since I'm in Germany right now it says its costs 17.99 euros) [Steam sometimes seems to do a direct conversion of price of Euro to dollar or maybe even dollar to euro].
As part of the title of the game would suggest, this is a co-op game and is meant to be played online with others (there is a lan function if you wish to stay among friends only)
Graphics: 7/10
It might be a 6 but this game is still a work in progress I think so for now it is pretty well off. I've seen some pictures of it when it was just a mod for other games but now that it is a game itself the graphics have improved quite a bit. Not to mention the blood, fire, and general destruction looks nice. Some of the buildings look fake but you aren't looking at them when you are getting swarmed by a bunch of these mutated horrors.
Game play: 7/10
Very simple. Kill, buy new weapons, survive. Rinse and repeat. The key factor that makes it different from all those other zombie, survive the apocalypse games is the difficulty of it. Now I'm not saying its harder than some of the ones out there. Call of Duty is rather hard since it never ends, L4D 1 and 2 are kinda hard, but easier than this game. Killing Floor combines them both by giving you the ability to win but makes it challenging due to the sheer amount of the "specimens" that you have to kill. Not only that but there is no cross-hair targeting system so its all by iron sight unless its a crossbow then you have this scope on it but there is always a final boss that is pretty hard to kill if you don't work together.
There are also several classes that you can play and each one gives you certain benefits. These benefits increase as you level up that class. The levels are saved on the account (it does depends on the games you play as some games are modded for fun and it won't be saved)
Plot/ Storyline: 6/10
To be fair its not a bad score for the type of game that it is. Killing Floor isn't the first and defiantly won't be the last type of game where you have to kill hordes of monsters and survive. The background story is also a bit cliche. Some scientists do some experiments on people and it goes horribly wrong. Now the army or w/e military they have are sent in to find survivors and kill them off.
Online game-play:
Very important to the game. Online play is what drives this game forward but the only problem, which isn't really a game specific problem, is the team that you get. If you get a bunch of people that don't know what they are doing you can still survive but you won't get far. If you get a bunch of people that think they can go solo you won't last long either. Worse is when you join a game with assholes that thinks its funny to kill you if Friendly Fire is on. (Got a game like that today and I ended up going on my friend's steam account and killing them until they raged and left)

To buy, sent, or leave on shelf.
Its another Buy for me. For me its one of those games that you play then maybe stop playing for a bit but when you start playing again you won't stop for a few weeks or even a few months.
this is a nice game, good rated and like your critism about some points.
ReplyDeletesounds fun, i might take a closer look!
ReplyDeleteGot this when it was on sale awhile back. Very fun if you can get some good people to play it with.
ReplyDeletei've had killing floor recomended by several friends, maybe it's time to try it out ^^
ReplyDeleteMilitary killing off survivors...Who are the good guys here again?
ReplyDeleteGreat review cheers.
ReplyDeleteIm saving up to buy a ton of games this one just made my list
ReplyDeletesounds interesting, but the name is kinda lame, like the floor is made of lava or something
ReplyDeleteI think I'll try it.....18 bucks sound fair for this game.
ReplyDeleteThat game looks sick. 6 player co-op. Awesome. It kinda reminds me of the project reality games.
ReplyDeleteLooks good though. It reminds me of that game kids used to play, lava floor, which it would technically be a killing floor.
ReplyDeletethis is gonna be a leave for me
ReplyDeleteWith just a tiny bit of clean-up, this would be better than Left 4 Dead. Very fun game
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty sweet game dude.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my kind of game, thanks man.
ReplyDeleteI did play KF for a couple of weeks, and got bored pretty soon just as I did with l4d1-2.(which took around 2-3 months tho)
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about this game. Too bad you didn't think it was fantastic, but your points make sense. I guess I'll have to play it myself to see if I like it.
ReplyDeleteI've really wanted to get this. Not had much time but your review makes it sound awesome! Will get it next time it's on sale.
ReplyDeleteI should try this game.
ReplyDeleteDont know much about this game but ater reading your review Ill give it a go.
ReplyDeleteits too scary
ReplyDeleteoh thanks for your review.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't seem too bad. I need to get a few quick games like that. Most of the games I have are games that you have to invest time into, nothing that's just sit down and play for a bit.
ReplyDeleteThough if you're looking for horror games, I suggest this one game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It's a game I'm looking to purchase soon that I heard is supposed to be mind blowing and terrifying.
can it be the killing wall instead?
ReplyDeleteLooks quite good man. Might have to give it a buy.
ReplyDeleteI actually have this game, and I love it! 60+ hours in so far.
ReplyDeletesolid review! i think i might take your advice on it
